Tea Bag Art and Tarot with Jahne Hope-Williams
Jahne published a Tarot Deck of the major Arcana in 2008. She is represented in Europe in the Museum of Tarot in Madrid and nominated for the position of Australasian Representative of the American Tarot Guild. Calling artists or crafts people who want to learn to paint on tea/coffee bags. Bring paper and pen for notes, and some used tea bags and a small pair of scissors so you can play.
I have a great love of making mending. Reuse and recycle are my mottos, and my muse is the couture house DESIGUAL. However, I mend clothes the Japanese way. The mends/darns changes, upcycles show as a “badge of honour”.
We are all about working with the mind, the body and the spirit.
This is never more obvious than in our TEA BAG ART. I take recognisable places and icons and reproduce them in miniatures on tea bags – your ordinary household tea bags, framed and also made into cards and prints.
For years I worked in some of the most prestigious institutions in the world – THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTE OF NATURAL HISTORY in Washington. DC. (USA) the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, THE STEINHARDT AQUARIUM, THE AUSTRALIAN NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM (Melbourne), and so on… even MOMA in New York.
