La Maison Dieu (the House of God) is better known as the Lightning Struck Tower. What is this Tower? Is it the Tower of Saint Barbara or perhaps the Tower of Babel? Is it even a Tower at all, could it be a Flaming Tree or the Gaping Mouth of Hell?

The Tower of Babel is an interesting myth because it’s variations can be found all around the world in most cultures. The idea of man’s arrogance being followed by a fall can even be found in the childhood game of Snakes & Ladders. Just as we smugly believe we are about to win the game, we land on the square of pride & must slide down the biggest snake on the board sending us almost back to the beginning.
